“Recently Gapuwiyak School have had WTD Constructions on site providing mandatory OH & S upgrades around the school under the direction of the Department of Infrastructure.

Significant works like this have the potential to cause major disruption to our school and our Term with classes needing to be moved and students kept safe from multiple work sites. I

t is a pleasure to let you know that your workers, under the supervision of the site manager Sam, have been absolutely incredible on site.

Sam has provided me with regular, and at times daily updates of scheduled works and how they might impact on the school. He has been flexible during school events and worked around our needs on every occasion.

Every time I witness an interaction between your staff and our students, your team are always patient, stop what they’re doing and take time to talk with the kids and explain their work.

I believe that this attitude and approach is largely responsible for the respect students have shown for the school and your teams equipment during these works.

As someone who has lived in Gapuwiyak since I was much younger, I also want to thank your team on a personal level for the way that they embrace and upskill local employees. The relationship between the members of your team is incredible and the respect that your crew show to Yolngu Culture and the community staff that work with WTD is truly fantastic.
